Among all the presidential candidates, only Peter Obi has gone closer to the people to understand what they really need to become more productive and take Nigeria out of poverty for most citizens. He has been to flooded communities, spoken extensively through the media about his agenda, and reacted swiftly to address criticisms as no campaign is perfect.

Other presidential candidates are closed up with too many aides and assistants thereby preventing them direct access to the people, speaking through proxies, avoiding scrutiny from the press etc. They just dole money out because they have it in abundance, and some of these are money they made either from drug trafficking or corrupt politics.

A president must be close to the populace to make effective change. We can't trust Nigeria in the hands of presidential advisers and personal aides and assistants, because it's obvious from past experience that they don't tell the president the truth
