Aberration and Disservice to the Civil Service First and foremost, it is important to appreciate efforts of the current administration of Kwara State to ensuring a civil service that is a pride of the nation. However, the current brouhaha in the Ministry of Health, Ilorin is a show of shame and an abnormally. An internal posting was done in the Department of Public Health by the Honourable Commissioner in which there was a swap of position between the State Epidemiologist and the Program Manager if Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme. The Former State Epidemiologist by name Dr. Khadeejah Kamaldeen who is known to be one of the wives of the 'acting' Chief Judge of the Sharia Court, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen has always been known to be arrogant due to her husband’s closeness to the past administration of former governor Abdulfatai Ahmed, the administration that engineered her inappropriate posting in 2016. She portrayed herself as being more powerful than the management of the ministry and her latest conduct justified this. She is backing on the position her husband currently holds in this administration and the affiliation with Ansarul Islam Society to propagate false narrative that she is been witch haunted. What a big lie, evidences are obvious to show the level of atrocities she has committed in the last 6 years. She will single handedly take decisions without due approval from the management. She reveals and shares government important documents and top secret with friends and her privately employed workers who are not civil servants. The latest of her arrogancy is her refusal to handover and resume at her new posting. This is an officer that has displayed a great abuse of power and office over the years and has always be warned and pardoned. This position she has occupied for over 6 years an in which different partners have at one time or the other laid complaints to the ministry about her and how her character has influenced performance wrongly due to her high-handedness and disobedience to orders and process of the civil service. This current posting brouhaha we heard is been aided by the PPS of the executive governor who is indirectly supporting a civil servant to disobey the service by ordering the management of the ministry to reverse the posting. Posting is a normal exercise in civil service, why is this different? This we know so well is an aberration to the service which should not be aided by the administration of Gov. Abdulrasak AbdulRahman. Moreover, the newly posted officer as the State Epidemiologist is a senior Medical Officer on grade level 16, more qualified and more experienced, so why the brouhaha. We will also like to inform the civil service and likewise the state government that enabling an aberration as this might lead to anarchy in the ministry and the service at large. Are we saying that every and any officer can reject a posting in as much as he or she is not interested and once he knows the top people in the state. The civil service and the PPS who is interfering in an all civil service matter should know that a wrong precedence is being laid. Lastly, why is Dr Kamaldeen Khadeejah adamant on not leaving that position of state epidemiologist if there's no ulterior motive or gains seen? Also, she should remember that a more senior Medical Officer was removed when she assumed that position on rather junior grade level 12. This in itself was an aberration then. This call is to bring the attention of His Excellency, who we know have done very well in the health sector of Kwara State to please intervene to stop this unprecedent and dangerous trend. The prayers are 1. The status quo of the posting should remain because the post of a state epidemiologist is for level 16 0fficer and is not her birthright. Moreover, she has always been inefficient. 2. Public office is not for selfish interests and such interest should not be condoned.3. Dr Khadeejah Kamaldeen should resume her new posting with immediate effect and desist from cooking lies of nepotism and inciting religious conflict in the state. Also Ministry of health is for Kwaran, she should not hide under pretense of Ilorin Agenda to instigate anarchy. There are many Ilorin sons and daughters in the Ministry who are well behaved and cultured. |
