HOUSTON, Texas (Reuters) -- Texas, which leads the nation in carrying out the death penalty, has executed the 400th person since the state resumed capital punishment in 1982.

1 of 2  Johnny Ray Conner, 32, who was convicted in the shooting death of a convenience store owner in Houston in 1998, was on Wednesday the 21st man put to death by lethal injection in Texas this year.

My opinion:  There is never a justification for taking a human life-----------no matter how usesless that human life is.  If what ever you believe in says "thou shalt not kill"  then so be it.  Life sentence without parole is better.  Besides, most death row inmates stay on for over 10-20 years before being executed.  Then the possibility of executing the wrong person is a frightening thought!

Yup! It cannot bring my child back so what is the point?  Sad and painful----I believe in the power of forgiveness!  I believe in what ever you do in this world--you will definitely pay for it even if you are not caught. No------ taking another human life is pointless to me.  I prefer for the person to be alive and let his conscience torment him or her till death!

I think if this death sentance is being comitted in China or Russia and not in US, they will term it the worst Human Right abuse, now its happening in US it can be justified to the extent that the texan authorities told the EU to mind their business. Its a starnge world.

Are you a casket seller? Anything in the business of death--count me out! Of course I have killed a chicken in the past. That is why I used that example. I don't think I can do it again oh! Me and blood or just the end of life process do not get along! I love to sleep well. So anything about death or killing---abeg count me out oh! Just seeing a dead body is traumatizing enough not to talk of actually taking a life!

Why not Don't you see how beautiful the wings, breast, thigh and legs are in the naked glass window?  They are well dressed and ready for consumption. God does not mind you eating those you know?  Try chopping up a human dead body and deep frying it and selling it at KFC  or is it KFH---_{kentucky fried human} or Mrs Winners!  As long as I am not participating in the killing process, I can eat the chicken or the ram fine fine!  Just don't leave any tell tale signs to remind me of how the chicken got to KFC in the first place!

Yeah death sentence, who cares?. . .More than 400 people died today on this planet for different reasons. Honestly, there are more things I'll rather do than worry about capital punishment, I can SLEEP.

did anybody watch fox news channel last nite? the case was about a man that sexually abused a 9 year old girl & buried her alive after the assault, the judge gave him the death penalty. In this case i support death penalty 100%
