Earlier on Friday, Nigeria was thrown into mourning after the news of the death of the popular gospel singer, Sammie Okposo filtered in. The Wellu Wellu crooner was said to have slumped in his Lagos home and died. He was aged 51.


Prior to that, the Lagos State House of Assembly was thrown into mourning after Hon. Sobur Olayiwola Olawale, a lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly also slumped and died. He was barely 60.

A few hours before his death, Olawale, who is known as Omititi in political circles was among the politicians, who stormed Jos, Plateau State capital, for the kick-off of the campaign of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
