Don’t Allow PDP Return To Power, Tinubu Tells Nigerians by adenigga(m): 4:14am On Nov 27, 2022
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Saturday asked Nigerians not to allow the Peoples Democratic Party near the country’s resources again. He said the party mismanaged the opportunity it had when it was in charge of the country for 16 years.

The PDP Presidential Campaign Council in a swift response asked Tinubu to go and attend to his health first rather than attacking the party.

Tinubu, who spoke during a campaign rally at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, promised to bring to bear progressive governance in education, health care and employment generation if elected as the next president.

He took a swipe at the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a veteran aspirant who should go home and rest.

He said, “Atiku contested in the Social Democratic Party, he contested in PDP; he contested in (the defunct) Action Congress of Nigeria when we rescued him from Obasanjo. Now he is contesting again in PDP. He should go home and rest.

“Atiku has been running. Use your PVC (permanent voter cards) to vote him and his party out. Use your votes to retire him permanently this time. We must never again allow the rapacious and visionless gang of Peoples Destroying People to come near our commonwealth. They were in government for 16 years, they didn’t remember Badagry Expressway, they didn’t remember East-West Road, and they didn’t remember the Second Niger Bridge.”

He thanked the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for his commitment to the development of Nigeria and Lagos State.

He also asked Lagos residents to re-elect Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the governor of the state. “Dear Lagosians, my appeal to you today is to ask you to renew the mandate of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat for another four years. Do not let the execution and implementation of the bold vision of more than two decades be aborted or suspended.”

Those at the rally included the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, the party’s vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, Chairman, Progressives Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu, the director-general of the campaign council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong.

Also present were Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State; Aminu Masari of Katsina State; Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State; Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State; AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of Kwara State; Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State; the outgoing governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola; and former Ekiti governor, Kayode Fayemi. The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), and his counterpart in the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, were also present.

PDP replies comment

Responding to the comments made by Tinubu, the spokesperson for the PDP campaign council, Dino Melaye, said Tinubu’s close associates should advise him rightly rather than urge him on.

He stated, “God, why are these people wicked to this man? He called PVC, APV and corrected himself by calling it APC. This is advanced dementia! Get well soon, Tinubu! If Tinubu were mentally and physically fit, l would have known what to say but with his pitiable condition, we can only pray for him to get well and say no to the desperate people pushing him to perdition.”

We will not allow you or pdp return to power.
Aso rock is not an old people's home neither is it a retirement benefit.

Nigerians from all sides have decided to pull out our nation from consumption to production.

We have decided to take back our nation from bulubuu and mediocrity governance to real governance.

Nigerians have decided to take back our nation from the few who have been benefiting and embezzling our wealth.

Nigerians have decided that our common wealth must be spread all around for all.

Nigerians have decided on a fresh start.
Nigerians have decided on Peter obi/ Datti ahmed mandate.

No retreat! No surrender!

Asiwaju shouldn't bother himself to counsel Nigerians on this as posterity has already caught up with the PDP.

Sometimes I use to ask myself that if not for posterity, what would have struck the PDP to divide itself into these fractional cells: Atiku, Kwankwaso, Obi and the G5?

Prior to the build up to the 2023, I honestly feared for the APC cos of the challenges the country is going through that the main opposition party the PDP will use it to their advantage.
Alas the PDP blew their prospect by splitting up to much advantage of the ruling party the APC

Hehehe! See desperation! One thought these wicked souls in APC graced our national life albinitio on account of the alleged wastage of the PDP? What have the APC done better in the past 7 years?

What the rhetoric intentionally hopes to conceal, more than anything, is the nakedly transparent facts of the proven incapacity of the APC to govern and reform Nigeria after nearly seven years in power. In every imaginable index of human development, Nigeria has retrogressed under the lumbering weight of the incompetence of the APC.

-I). Under APC, Nigeria became the poverty capital of the world.

-II). While APC has been in power, the International Police Science Association’s and the Institute for Economics and Peace’s World Internal Security and Police Index also shows that Nigeria’s police service is the worst in the world.

-III). And, of course, under APC we became the third most terrorized country on earth.

-IV). Nigeria’s APC government was ranked the second worst in the world in “government integrity” by the US-based Heritage Foundation. Only the Venezuelan government is worse than it.

-V). In Oxfam’s and Development Finance International (DFI)’s global ranking of “Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index,” Nigeria was ranked 157 out of 157 countries.

-VI). An analysis published by the Coalition for Whistleblowers Protection and Press Freedom showed that “Under Buhari, Nigeria records [the] worst attacks on journalists in 34 years,” according to Premium Times.

-VII). And, in spite of the APC government’s tiresomely sanctimonious noises about “anti-corruption,” Nigeria has consistently regressed in Transparency International’s corruption perception index since the current regime came to power.

-VIII). According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, when APC came to power in May 2015, youth unemployment was 13.7 percent. By July 2017, it climbed to 33.1 percent. It increased to 53.40 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2020, up from 40.80 percent in the second quarter of 2020, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, a government agency.

The list is endless. No decent country on earth would reward the gang of incompetent know-nothings who presided over such an irrecoverable state of devastation and destruction of a country with continuity in governance.

Let’s not allow APC to propagandize us into accepting that their internal politics is our national politics. We should instead be asking them to account for the incalculable injuries they’ve collectively inflicted on our economy, our freedoms, our national emotions, and for reversing whatever little progress we were making before they took over.

Whenever you hear the PDP bigwigs and political watchers saying a vote for Obi is a vote for Tinubu, don't downplay it cos it's real & practical.

Look at most of the monikers on nairaland that supported the PDP in 2015 & 2019 are now chanting obidense.
Pro Atiku comments/threads that use to generate likes & traffic has been abandoned for few PDP adherents. Haba who do PDP this thing?

Whereas APC supporters on nairaland has been consistent and loyal to their party regardless. This should tell us that the APC will still retain the presidency.
