Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old woman, Mariam Ibrahim, for allegedly killing her husband’s senior wife, Hafsat Ibrahim by hitting her in the head with a wooden pestle.

SP Ahmed Mohammad Wakil, the police public relations officer of the command said in a statement that on the 22nd November 2022, a 40-year-old man identified as Ibrahim Sambo of Gar village Pali ward, Alkaleri LGA came to Maina-maji Divisional Police Headquarters and reported that on the same date his second wife Maryam Ibrahim (the suspect) armed with a wooden pestle entered into his first wife’s room and hit her on the head with it.

SP Wakil said the victim suffered serious injuries to the head and was evacuated to a Primary Health-care center at Gar village where she was certified dead by the Medical Doctor.

He said on receiving the report, a team of detectives attached to the Command swung into action and arrested the suspect.
