The Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority ( ACTDA) Mr Ossy Onuko, has vowed to restore development sanity within the Awka Capital Territory.

Mr Onuko, made this vow today, during a massive demolition of illegally acquired lands and illegally erected structures at Agu Awka, Nodu Okpuno and other parts Awka Capital Territory, respectively.


The ACTDA Boss who maintained that the liveable and prosperous homeland promised to ndi Anambra by Mr Governor, can only be achieved by bringing about the rule of law in citing structural developments in Anambra and Awka Capital Territory, frowned at the rate of the recklessness of some individuals in citing illegal structures on access roads and people's lands.

He firmly warned people with the intent of erecting illegal structures, and false acquisition of public/ private property of the readiness of the Authority to reclaim those property and return it to the rightful owners without considering the class of the people involved.

"We must bring back a level of integrity to governance and ensure that people conform their building activities and land acquisition processes within the stipulated laws guiding such practices "

"We are also telling those whose buildings and shops were marked for demolition, to tender their building approvals to the Authority or to regularize and get approval from the Authority if your building is permissible"

He further said that the Authority will come fiercely for people whose structures are obstructing Access roads, waterways and portions mapped out for " green areas", adding that such areas will be reclaimed for the interest of Ndi Anambra.

The officers went in the company of Men of Civil Defence, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (Ocha Brigade), Anambra Vigilante Service, and Anambra joint Enforcement team (ANJET) to ensure Orderliness. (MOI)
