Being A Professional Sports Bettor: Pros And Cons by Ashleyokeneye(f): 1:44pm On Dec 05, 2022
People bet on sports for a variety of different reasons. Some do it because they find it makes watching sports even more exciting, while others do it simply because they like the buzz that betting gives them. For some people, it's all about testing their sports knowledge while others enjoy trying to "beat the bookmakers. The idea of making a regular and consistent income from betting on sports can be very appealing. It might seem like a great way to earn money, and in many ways it certainly is. Assuming you have the necessary skills and attributes, it can be a fabulous way to make a living. The following are the pros and cons of being a professional sports bettor.
Pros
1. You can choose your own hours: Choosing how many hours you work and when you work them is a very attractive concept to most people. Being a professional sports gambler gives you this flexibility, to some extent at least, because much of the work you need to do can be done anytime you choose. It's also ultimately up to you to choose how many hours you put in.
2. You can work from almost anywhere at any time: As a professional sports gambler you don't just have flexibility on when and how you work, you also have flexibility on where you work. You can work from almost anywhere, which gives you even more freedom to live your life the way you want to.
3. There is a huge winning potential: The earning potential of professional betting is perhaps the most appealing pro of all. If you're good at your job, then you may be able to make the kind of money that most people only dream of.

Cons
1. You need a large bankroll: You'll need a very healthy bankroll if sports betting is your sole source of income. It needs to be large enough so that you can place wagers at the stakes that will provide you with the income you want, and it also needs to be able to withstand a long losing streak.
2. Betting for a living can be unsociable: Life as a professional sports bettor can be a very unsociable existence. Most of your time working will be spent on research, analyzing your records, developing strategies and systems, and placing your wagers. Unless you are part of a team, you'll be doing this alone in front of your computer.
3. Placing wagers can get difficult at some point: One of the biggest problems that professional sports gamblers face is actually placing their wagers. Bookmakers are commercial operations and they are out to make money.
