I went to market to stockpile my room with food stuffs but it seems rice has become commodity for the rich.
Well, I couldn't buy it so I've decided to find a substitute for it.
Pls foodies in the house, what can I get as alternative that would look decent and cheap esp during the Christmas day.
PS-I'm a serving corper

Nothing like substituting, there is no law that states that you must eat rice on Christmas day. Definitely not in these perilous times.

Whatever you have that day, eat it and be merry. I don’t cook rice on any Christmas day. Rice that I have been eating every other week?

Growing up there was this neighbour that used to serve premium soup on Christmas day and I looked forward to her meal. The rest with their plenty rice inside enamel plates, na to chop meat and leave the rice abeg. lipsrsealed

It is common sense really - whatever he can afford is a substitute. As is clearly written but obviously flew above your head, it could even be EBA.

Thanks for this.
Just that it will be the first Christmas I would be spending without my family. It's really making me nervous that I won't be eating rice on a Christmas day.

You are welcome. Since you are alone, you would most likely not enjoy eating the rice alone if you cook it. Your best bet now is either to have friends over or go visiting on that day.

Don’t be nervous please, before you know it, it is February 2023 and hustle continues. cheesy

Potatoes or yam, or even pancake, etc. So long as you love what you make, no need to care about anything else. undecided
