Better hand feel

Google ate good this year with its flagship smartphone

This is a very tricky question. If we are to compare based on the quality of the phone and its price tag, then the Pixel 7 Pro is the best. If price is not factored into it, then we can't really crown any of them as the best because they both surpass each other in different categories. Here are some examples:
1) The iPhone 14 Pro Max has the best screen and has the best performance.
2) The Samsung's One UI Android skin is one of the most feature rich UIs in the Smartphone industry followed by that of the OnePlus and the iPhone. The Pixel's UI is good but can't compete with its Android counterparts in terms of features, it's just stock Android for a reason.
3) The iPhone 14 has far better battery life.
4) The Pixel and Samsung have better daylight photography qualities.
5) The Samsung's portrait camera algorithm and zoom quality at over 10x zoom are the best amongst all the phones in this list in daylight.
6) The iPhone has better video recording in both daylight and low light and also takes better portraits at low light.
7) The Samsung takes pictures with better colours in most situations compared to other phones in the list.
Multitasking is better on the Samsung.
9) The iPhone will receive far more updates than other phones here.
10) The Xiaomi 12S Ultra (which the op did not include in this list) blows out all the phones listed here in low light photography. Surprisingly, the Samsung comes in at a close 2nd while the Pixel is coming in at 3rd.
11) The iPhone has better build quality.
12) The Pixel has better AI than all other phones here from its text to speech algorithm to its language translation speed to live transcribe to car crash detection to the Google assistant etc.

With all I have I listed above, you can see why it is difficult to crown any phone the king of smartphones in 2022. Remember that the Vivo X90 pro plus was not included in this comparison.

S22 has a better screen ,higher resolution and colour.

we xiaomi fans won't speak in this thread, as none of our device make it to the list, which is a deliberate decision taken by the Op.

Overall best - Google Pixel 7 pro: better value for the money, better camera for photos. and better machine learning for speech to text regocnition and photo unblur.
