1. Because they used to suffering: It is true that some Nigerians actually love poverty. They see suffering as virtue and spiritual. Stockholm syndrome. 2. They don't believe Nigeria can be good: 'What is the point of voting Obi when Nigeria can never get better irrespective of he who wins the election?', they ask. 3. Political, Ethnic and religious sentiments: Many Nigerians believe a devil from their tribe, religion or party is better than an angel from the other side. This is because we are selfish and unpatriotic people. 4. Some are getting crumbs from corrupt politicians: Those who are benefiting from bad governance will always wish misgovernance never to end. In other words, bad governance do not seem bad to those who benefit from it. 5. Arrogance in ignorance: Many Nigerian do not know what good Governance really means. To them, poverty, unemployment, insecurity, lack of infrastructure, etc. are normal. They will even erroneously cite examples of US, UK and UAE. 2 Likes
