Obiano will forever be remembered for landmark!

Airport should be renamed after him.

.....and Hero Beer should be renamed after Peter Obi!
They'll rather ascribe all the glory and achievements of Obiano to Peter Obi

Obi contributed huge to this airport, if he governed like APC or PDP governors that always leave huge debt for their successors, it would've been hard for Obiano to complete this standard projects mind you this projects started during COVID, Anambra was financially buoyant due to Obi's prudence when he was governor.

Almost many apc states have airports.. Obi does not have 1 to his name.. Moreover if Tinubu didn't govern well fashola and the rest will have nothing so therefore you submit to Tinubu development of lagos

Anambra airport just shows why it's good to have human capital development before physical infrastructure

Absolutely what obi told buhari and osibanjo in 2019 see the mess we are now

Build and develop the people. Infrastructure would form as a result of that ...but infrastructure can't build the people

You are absolutely right

Building avio bridge is something you shouldn't talk about
It's an equipment you need in an airport

I don't like these solar street lights. The illumination is poor and they don't last.

I know he is trying to save diesel cost, but durability matters

It depends , they last and do illuminate very bright , make sure the watt and luminous capacity is high this are what people most time don't consider when buying solar street light

Obi is a visionary leader. I remember when he laid the foundation of this airport which was completed by Obiano. Ordinary Anambra built an airport without making noise. Yet, Lagos had been using same airport to campaign since 1999. They've started again as election approaches. They're repeating same story of 4th mainland bridge as well. People are so foolish. How can someone be deceiving millions of people every 4 years on same issues and they'd not still wake up? Tinubu's juju must be working.

From your comment it if obvious you never enter plane before
Aside Lagos which is because of limited land space which other airport for Nigeria you no go see Bush before you reach the airport? Even in your capital Abuja from bil Clinton drive to the airport look your left hand side no be Bush!!

Ikeja airport was not built there because of limited land o. Where the airport is built used to be far from town before. It’s development that caught up with that area.
I could remember in 1994, after Tunisia ‘94 African Nations’ Cup, I visited Abule-Egba area and the area was still scantily populated all the way from Ikeja airport after former Punch newspaper’s office at Oni Peteesi.

Where DHL is using as its hub now at Abule-Egba used to be Exide Battery factory. The factory was in thick bush then.

So the remaining land the airport has can build two additional airports. Have you gone to Shasha, Ejigbo, Canoe areas? The airport’s land still extends to that area. In fact, Lagos State government is talking to federal government to allow it build roads within the unused lands so that commuters can easily be crossing from Ikeja to Ejigbo, Isolo to Shasha/Akowonjo etc

Modified:
You can imagine how bushy that area would be in 1979 when such an airport was built.

Add this to it again: In 1982, my mum and I were staying alone in thick jungle on the road around the current Berger/Olowo’ra/ Kara (Ogun State), looking for truck that would help my mum pack her wares to old Oyo State for sale. So, today, anybody who is around Ojota, up to Berger would think development has always been there for ages.
It is the rapid collapse of Nigerian states that drove (and is still driving) many people to Lagos State, in search of greener pasture or to try their luck.
In summary, airports are never sighted in town, in the first instance. It is development that goes to ‘meet’ airport where it is situated.
