The survivors of the pogroms in North Central Nigeria must not forget Femi Adesina and his principal, Muhammadu Buhari.

Under the Buhari administration it became a common thing to see bodies of men and women, old and young, lined up in heaps and covered with leaves - across North Central Nigeria. The only crime of these mostly poor peasant, rural dwellers was being born Nigerian.

Granted, this vicious land grab by nomadic pastoralists - and its deadly consequences - did not start with the Buhari administration. But only the Buhari administration continuously provided both overt and covert support to the perpetrators of these egregious crimes. Only in the Buhari administration could a degenerate like Femi Adesina publicly urge the victims to give up their ancestral land to their oppressors because "you can only have ancestral attachment if you are alive".

And the Buhari led federal government stood idly by and did nothing - while the casualties mounted.

Nothing lasts forever. The immunity and state protection that Muhammadu Buhari and Femi Adesina have enjoyed for 8 years - at great human cost - is slowly coming to an end. Buhari will still enjoy some of these undeserved perquisites as a former head of state - even after 2023. But the people of Plateau, Nassarawa, Benue, Taraba etc. who have lost so much - they owe their dead the responsibility of doing everything within their power to hold Muhammadu Buhari legally and morally accountable for his administration's abject failure to protect them and those they lost. It is a sacred duty.

And Femi Adesina? If there is any justice in this world, his journey into both a private and public hell should begin in the next few months once he leaves Abuja. People of North Central Nigeria, do not forget!!
