Bfore starting a LPG gas plant business in Nigeria, one have to do and know the necessary, appropriate things before startup. Basically, as funny as it may sound, the government totally determine the success of your business in this sub-sector of oil and gas industry. So, you will have to transact your business wisely, using the right approach and method. You must be involve in some cooperative societies, as a registered agent. These activities are undertaken as part of the LPG commercial enterprise in Nigeria. You need to know all the details, no matter how small, how petty it may be; or you will be doom to failure, because you can't fight the government.

When it comes to the oil and gas sector in Nigeria, recurring fluctuations in economic activity, consisting of recession, recovery, growth and development can't be controlled. But, at least, you should be in control of the ordinary and necessary within your power incurred in taxes, insurance and so on.

Having the right and necessary documents can save your business from downfall. This fact remains, the government will even help you fail. They will impose unnecessary charges on your business. If you don't know what your stands are in this area of business, you are in for a long battle. Here are list of important and necessary documents needed for LPG business in Nigeria:


LAND DOCUMENT: This is a written account of ownership or obligation of land. Support or supply with reference.

BUSINESS REGISTRATION: This document shows your business registry; enrollment. In Nigeria, you can get a document certifying an act of registering from CAN. This are the body of people who register or enroll your business and identify you as the sole owner of that business.

SURVEY PLAN: In Nigeria, some law in some states would not allow you to build a gas plant on a land area less than 2 plot. On rare occasion, some government agents do come for an examination, especially for an official examination, with a design to ascertain the condition, quality of buildings. Before purchasing a land for your gas plant business, you need someone who conducts a statistical survey. An engineer who determine the boundaries and elevations of the land or structures.

FIRE SEVICE DOCUMENT: You WILL need to also register your LPG gas plant business with a fire department or any member of a fire company business that extinguish fires in that town or state. This fire department issue a document or order what precautions should be taken against fires. They are also available for you in case of emergency, called also fire-wards who had authority to direct in the extinguishing of fires in case of an emergency. This department of local government are responsible for preventing and extinguishing fires in the town or state. TRADE PERMIT: A grant operational licence by local commercial development area. The license is annually documented, renewed annually.

PERMISSION FROM LOCAL AUTHORITIES: This also served as an administrative unit of local government, created to perform the work of a local government. These groups of body consist of the local royalist, monarchy. You need to get the go ahead from these sects; if the territory is ruled over by a monarch, a kingdom.

NOTE: Fire notice is a very important document. Each states in Nigeria operates fire department, and they can issue your business the "Fire Safety Certificate For Gas Industries/Retailers" from the state fire and safety service.
