Emefiele has bowed to pressure and has allowed Tinubu have his way

The reversal is unfortunate. I can’t blame the CBN governor though, the pressure was much from political elites on all sides.

Despite the increase, it’s still a very tight policy and I hope CBN can withstand future pressure and not increase the limit again. To combat corruption, we must run an economy that allows government to trace every single kobo in the system. Keeping trillions of cash outside of the banking system is inimical to the growth of the economy and the fight against corruption.

The corrupt elite have used personal corruption of CBN gov to shut him up. Next is for politicians to do massive transfers to foot soldier account and pay commission for every N500,000 withdrawal.

Isn't the purpose of the entire policy defeated?
