Modern goalkeepers need to be able to use their feet and begin attacks. Alison of Liverpool, Ederson from Manchester City, Ter Stegen Barcelona, Manuel Neuer Bayern Munich, these guys play the sweeper keeper role more than Onana. Only a world class manager can understand the value of having that type of goalkeeper.

There nothing modern in the way Onana plays. its a risk. Such risks can be entertained in the league but not during tournaments.

You mean a Goalie playing outside box 18 is a modern football.
