This cold harmattan season is very vital in your poultry farming journey. You have to be very careful as the cold out now can cause your birds to have paralysis, can make them keep standing and sleepy, and also make you lose birds if you are not vigilant with them.

So these are what you can do to help your birds to fight against cold and overcome this season.

1) If you are brooding day-old chicks, increase how long and the duration to supply heat to your day old chicks to keep them warmer against this cold.

2) Use Good antibiotics more often this season for both young and mature birds and even for turkeys.

3)Use strong Tarpaulin, Nylon, or use the sack that comes with poultry feed to cover their pen or cages and also make sure their pen is well covered from night till morning.

4) Increase your birds feeding or protein source because your birds will burn more fat and use more energy to warm themselves up during the cold

5) Use a good source of heat for your birds, Like heat from electric bulbs and other sources of heat like gas broader and other sources

6)Ensure the water your birds are drinking is not too cold this season and change their water more often this season.

7)If you notice a drop in your layers bird production or your broilers are not gaining weight as they use to be restful and know it's most likely due to the cold.
