MOSCOW (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin oversaw the commissioning of new warships and vowed Thursday to further strengthen his country’s navy.

“We will speed up and increase the volumes of construction of ships of various projects, equip them with the most modern weapons, and conduct the operational and combat training using the experience received during the special military operation,” Putin said, referring to Russia’s 10-month-old campaign in Ukraine.

The newly commissioned vessels included a corvette, a minesweeper and the Generalissimus Suvorov nuclear submarine. The submarine armed with Bulava nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles is the sixth submarine of the new Borei-class to join the Russian navy.

“It will ensure Russia’s security for decades ahead,” Putin said.

Another submarine of the same type, Emperor Alexander III, was launched during Thursday’s ceremony. The navy plans to commission it following trials.

Putin, who has largely avoided public engagements since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, gave the green light for Russian flags to be hoisted on the new vessels via video link.

Among the newly commissioned vessels were a corvette, a minesweeper, and the Generalissimus Suvorov nuclear-powered submarine that is capable of launching ballistic missiles.

Another nuclear submarine, Emperor Alexander III, was put to sea on Thursday and will be commissioned following trials.

"We will increase the pace and volume of construction of various ships, equip them with the most modern weapons," the Russian leader said in televised remarks.

"All in all, everything to reliably ensure Russia's security, the protection of our national interests in the world ocean," he added.

During his two decades in power, Putin has made strengthening his armed forces a top priority, equipping the navy with new warships and adding hypersonic missiles, described by Putin as "invincible," to Russia's arsenal.

However, Russia has faced a series of humiliating setbacks on the battlefield in Ukraine, which has proved itself to be a formidable foe thanks largely to the consignments of modern weaponry it has received from the West to resist the Russian invasion.

So what are they doing in Syria, or have you forgotten when the USA was arming ISIS, an organisation that everyone calls an international terrorist organisation in the same Syria.

What has the USA done concerning the so called ISIS they armed. The so called ISIS are they not part of the organisation (ISWAP) that is causing terrorism in northern Nigeria today.

USA is the problem of this world.
