May Justice prevail in this case. Extra judicial killing must be put to a stop.

This is why Lagos is different, we don't condone impunity and terrorism here.

That isn't a smile. He knew he's a dead man already. Just a matter of when. May we not find ourselves in situations that has no remedy. He's already dead

Why is he being charged to a magistrate court? They don't have jurisdiction over murder charges!

When the outcry on Police brutality became so worrisome, the Nigerian youths voice out, but the government were turning a blocked ear to the yearnings of the people.
What do we call this now, is this still a noise? Or reality?
There are numerous Nigeria police officers who are worst than this ASP Drambi Vandi, there is lot to be done by the State and federal government.
There modes of operations undermost should be reviewed immediately, because the attitudes of the NPF officers are terrible, their behaviour is inhumane.

Good one.. at least one of the madmen in black carrying gun is going down.. more to follow. Its time for the government start conducting cognitive testing for their officers.

Right but the case no deep:
One count charge of murder?
What if he says it was accidental discharge, weapon malfunction, or he was aiming for the car's tyres? That would have changed his offence from murder to manslaughter, and since he's not charged for that, he goes home free!
He should have at least 3 or 4 charges:
Murder
Manslaughter
Negligence for poor weapon handling
"Bad behaviour while performing duties as police officer" (not sure what they call that in law)
Etc. Etc.

If one is a non-nigerian or a nigerian outside of this country and you are to rely on this comments on this forum perhaps, one might be forced to believe that indeed, there is no sort of justice in this country.

What makes you think he will get away with this?

For a reminder, the police officer who killed a young man at a viewing center somewhere in Lagos has been sentenced to death. To take you back in time, the officer that killed those young boys and girls in Abuja some years back was sentenced to death. There are others cases like that that are in the public domain. But typical of Nigerians, the moment they are fixdated on a particular erroneous belief, boom, nothing can change that.

The judicial system is messed up and yet formers governors were sent to prison? Indeed.

So, even if you commit an offence like manslaughter and get a good lawyer then, you are out pronto like the police officer you know?

It amazes one when you read comments of people who are presumably educated even if it is half eduaction on this forum.

Truth is, with a mentality like this, you are part of the problem.

Happy New Year.

Go and sit in one corner. Trying to sound woke and educated but ended up making a fool of yourself. Did you read where I said that the 'judicial system is so messed up'? Did I specifically refer to the Nigerian judicial system? Go to America and see murderers walking free. Go to other developed countries and see hardened criminals living a free life.

In any part of the world, a criminal can get away with his crime if he gets a good lawyer. The judicial system doesn't care whether you were caught at the crime scene but are concerned with how you are able to defend yourself with irrefutable evidence. I can count the number of guys who killed people in Nigeria and other developed countries and are now walking free. So what makes you think the Police officer can't get away with his crime if he gets a good lawyer?

And I laugh in Swahili when you mentioned former Governors serving jail term. What makes you think they sleep in jail? Haven't you heard of VIP prisoners being swapped for ordinary people who spend jail time for them? Even in America, when VIP's are sent to jail, they live like royalties and are accorded certain priveledges by prison warders who are one of the most corrupt people on earth. Dude, just chill cos you seem not to know what goes on in the judicial system.

I am talking facts, and you are ranting about education and how foreigners would percieve my comments. Who gives a Bleep about them when they are even more corrupt than us? Mr, take a chill pill! I am in the system and knows exactly what I am talking about. The judicial system is messed up all over the world and anyone can get away with his crimes if he gets a good defence lawyer. Know this and have peace!

The Lagos State DPP should just recommend the Death penalty immediately.
Cross examinations not required.
No need to call witnesses or set up a Jury.
They should deny him the right to an appeal since he did not plea.
It should be the death sentence, signed ASAP by Gov. Sanwo-Olu before May 29th.

This will serve as a worthy deterrent to other randy policemen.
