APC sinking in Kwara, says Olododo campaign council after court victory

The Campaign council of Social Democratic Party, SDP, candidate for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency of Kwara State, Hon. Abdulganiyu Olododo has described the APC as a sinking party loosing grounds in the State.

The campaign council said this in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Sheriff, on Friday, after the judgement of the Federal High Court, dismissing the suit filed by the APC against Olododo, a member of the House of Representatives from seeking reelection.

The APC had on 7th July filed a suit seeking Olododo's disqualification from seeking reelection under the SDP, but was later dismissed in a judgement on Friday, by Justice I.M Sanni of the Federal High Court for failure of the plaintiff to prove that Olododo's acceptance by INEC as SPD's candidate was in violation of the law.

Reacting to the judgement, Olododo's campaign council accused the APC of making attempts to thwart the will of the people, adding that the SDP candidate will also secure victory in the 2023 election.

Ololodo Campaign Council further enjoined the people of Ilorin East/South and Kwara State in general to get their permanent voters’ card and vote for all SDP candidates in the 2023 election.

“Although we are confident the APC embarked on a futile journey from onset, today’s victory is for the people and a reflection of what is to come in 2023, when the good people of Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency will reecho their resolve to sustain the quality representation Olododo has offered in the last three and half years of his sojourn at the green chamber”, the statement said.
