The police have defended Drambi Vandi, a cop under investigation for killing a pregnant Lagos lawyer, Bolanle Raheem. The Nigerian police claimed Mr Vandi might have acted under a spell.

Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, speaking on Splash FM Radio in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, in a recent interview, described Mr Vandi as a “very nice man” and likely a victim of diabolical manipulation.

Mr Vandi was arrested for shooting and killing Ms Raheem on Christmas Day.

He was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court, Yaba, on one count of murder and remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons pending legal advice from the director of public prosecution (DPP).

Nonsense. Make dem still pardon all the inmates convicted of murder. Maybe they were also cursed.

Until we keep sentiments, tribalism and religion aside , Nigeria will never change.

I entered Keke one day in Ibadan, and the Keke guy was giving police N50.00 from a particular safe in the Keke.
When I got to my destination I gave the Keke guy N500.00 for a trip of N250.00 he gave me N300.00 and requested for N50.00 back, stating that he did not have change.
I pointed to his safe that had many N50.00 that he was giving police from to give me change from it.
The guy outrightly told me that the N50.00 from the safe was for policemen. He said he won't say much, but that he cannot give money from that safe to someone that has not done him any evil.
I knew he was dead serious when he mentioned that I can go with the N300.00 he had given me if I did not have N50.00 to give him back.

If we all decide to go this route, no one will be responsible or accountable for their actions. If he was under a spelt or satanic manipulation, why didn't he pull the trigger on himself instead?
Running away after a crime is committed is an admittance of guilt.The other of his team who also ferry him away knew it wasn't a manipulation, but as it were their usual trademark.
The Nigeria police rank and file are highly frustrated community of humans. Best thing is to withdraw riffles from those on patrol within civilian environment, while letting a more sensible officer take possession of their guns while on patrol. It should only be released to them whenever there is a legitimate need for its usage.

Yet they willingly and readily arrest, detain and jail other nice men.

Well, there might be a different meaning to being "NICE" in the police dictionary
