Yes second military in the world fighting against first military in the world plus all her NATO vessel. Russia is getting stronger every day, assessing their weaknesses and improving on them. Russia is fighting against USA, Ukraine UK and all her vessel state still wining the battle both economically and politically, also in the battle field. And you think if Russia was fully mobilised for this war, Ukraine wouldn't have crumbled? Russia is definitely not using up to a quarter of its firepower. It possesses several military assets in the far east, arctic and several other places to defend its territories. They went in with 200k troops out of over 1m active troops and another million reserves. Ukraine, on the other hand, is fully mobilised as a country defending. If NATO were to fight Russia squarely, it will be a different kind of war and a different set of weapons. Yet, we can say that Ukraine has several advantages presently being supplied with training, manpower, money and weapons by over a dozen countries. Russia has always been a slow mobiliser in wars. During Napoleon's invasion, Russia appeared so weak that Napoleon's Grand Armee of 500,000 troops reached Moscow and found it burning. However, only a third of the 500,000 made it back to France.

Be careful when you try to undermine Russia. Big Nations like the US, China and Russia are difficult to unravel.

War doesn't work that way for the very reason you mentioned. Nobody cares about a 1m Russian army if they are no threat to Ukraine. Nobody cares about thousands of Russian jets sitting idly far away from conflict.

What concerns Ukraine is the expulsion of all Russian invasion forces and their equipment from Ukrainian soil, and that's all that matters.

Contrary to what you think, Russia has been so stretched with losses it is resulting in the conscription of civilians. It still doesn't have air supremacy over Ukraine after about a year of war. And the little air advantage it has is being denied by Western supplied SAMs.

If Russia chooses to escalate the war, it can only go in the direction of weapon of mass destruction and if it does that NATO would respond in force, by in the minimum supplying Ukraine with the most lethal offensive weapons known to mankind.
