The Nigerian Politicians have taken their eyes off the ball and looking at the goal post. The military are not gone but waiting and strategizing on what to do next and waiting for the most opportune time to take over the government. Buhari government is almost at her tail end and a southerner is most likely to take over. The recent postings in the Army and other divisions of the Nigeria Military should have waited until the next Commander in Chief comes in. Politically it is not the best time to change Brigade commanders, GOC and Divisional leaders. Military leaders have been known to place their loyalist in strategic position to make Coup d'état easier( Babangida , Abacha etc) did it in the past and this is another move by the military to reposition loyalist in strategic positions for an eventuality. Politicians and the Commander in Chief should instruct the Military to tarry a while until the new Government takes position and or established it's root firmly before new postings are effected. The Military needs supervision and should never be allowed to runs it's affairs without maximum supervision. African Military cannot be trusted( the first and second republic leaders who failed to monitor the Army closely paid for it in blood and tears with military mutiny). Our destiny in Nigeria was bleeped up by military incursion into politic( they are not trained to govern; they are thieves and looters and plunderers: it is a war mentality) The Nigerian Military are not gone but waiting . Politicians awake and monitor the Army LEAST you all pay with blood .

You sound like you hate Nigeria and it's military. Stop instigating and insinuating falsehood, it's a figment of your biased imagination.

Now is even the best time to do it, so that it wont be easy for local politicians to manipulate them, unlike those that they are already familiar with, even police service always do their redeployment few weeks to elections...
Morealso, these redeployment cant stop the new government from redeploying if is necessary.

The govt doesn't even make the postings, military authorities do.

I beg to disagree with you.

As much as I agree with you that the military is still lurking around and looking for opportunity to seize power again, I think the recent postings, if any, is very necessary.

It’s most likely that some of them may have been compromised by politicians in their area of assignment and extracted commitments from them to help look away when their boys come to cause mayhem or disrupt elections.

So, transferring those people and bringing in new ones is a good move.

If you ask me, I will even say it’s too early. They should have waited till February. Because between January and February 25th is enough time to compromise the new commanders.

That’s what I’m trying to tell the OP. That some of these Generals were already bought by politicians in their zones who would want them to favour them in the election.

So, they either have to cough out another billions of Naira or go into the election on an even ground with all parties.

The only postings he may have interest in is in places that are critical to him( even that may be a probability, he has a MoD, an NSA for that). Maybe North Eastern theater or Lake Chad operation. Not every FOB and unit, hell not even all divisions.
