What Makes Nigeria The Giant Of Africa by auwal87(m): 9:02pm On Sep 05, 2011
One day, a wealthy Nigerian man planned to compare between Nigeria and Sudan, he took a plane bound for Khartoum Airport, on arrival at the airport while waiting for his passport to be stamped for entry, he saw a large box full of money meant for donation, but to his amazement this box was widely open, he called the attention of a security official thinking that they mistakenly left the box open, the security guard told the man, no, this is to enable donors with high denominations of a currency donate some part and pick their change from the box. The man without getting his passport stamped decided that his comparison has ended from there. So he returns to his "Giant of Africa".

Back to the subject matter; What really makes Nigeria the "Giant of Africa"?

This is enough to make Nigeria the Giant of Africa.

Add to that is this fatherly role Nigeria plays in African politics(AU and ECOWAS).
There is also this psychology among non-Nigerian Africans(esp black) that look at Nigeria/Nigerians with awe and reverence, even if they tend to exhibit reverse psychology to cover this. Only Nigeria can another country's top Musician(Ghana) sit down and compose song about.

Nigeria is also the entertainment capital of Africa(Nollywood, music stars etc).
