Satan is God's quality control administrator of sorts. He is used by God to test the resolve of men. And God tests every single one of His servants. Even Job and Peter were also tested, so what aspect of this amounts to comedy?

1. Forgiveness or redemption has to be defined in the Law in order for it to be an option. And we already explored some of the details of the Law God gave to Adam to find that forgiveness/redemption wasn't an option in that Law. To add to this there is no record of Adam himself asking for forgiveness, meaning, he, Adam, probably understood that fact too. What is recorded is that Adam's sons— Abel and Seth — made choices different from their parents.

2. Yep, every one of God's servants is tested in a similar manner.

3. Jesus Christ made it clear in His teachings that He, Jesus Christ, was also a servant of God the Father, and as such had to submit to the same tests that God had established for all of His servants.
