After his session at the Chatham House yesterday, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, was guest to the Archbishop of Catenbury; a luxury that was not enjoyed by Bola Tinubu of APC when he went for the same event.

Now, for those who may not understand why visit to the Archbishop of Catenbury, and head of the Anglican Communion in the world, is significant, here’s a brief background.

After King Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic Church in 1534, and established the Church of England (Anglican Church), the Archbishop of Catenbury became the highest religious figure of England while the King now became both the religious and political leader of England.

This was how the Archbishop of Catenbury became powerful because he is actually part of the establishment of the English dynasty.

Now, in 2015, he met with only one presidential candidate, Muhammed Buhari, who ended up winning the election. He repeated it in 2019.

This year, he has again, met with only one presidential candidate and gone further to pray with him in his private chapel and allowed pictures to be taken.
