Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has invited the American Consul to work with the state on developing an export emporium.

When Mr. Stevens Will, the Consul General at the American Embassy in Lagos, paid Governor Soludo a courtesy visit at the Governor's Lodge in Amawbia, the Governor made the call.

The Governor, who spoke to the media shortly after a private meeting with his visitor, claimed that their conversation focused on the numerous potentials for trade, investment, and technological advancement.

"Nigeria and the US have a very long and fruitful connection that dates back many years.

"We looked at the different collaborations and programs with Nigeria and the state in particular and decided to seek more corporate opportunities, particularly in the trade and investment sectors."

"We had insightful discussions on those technological and innovative topics". The Governor said, "We are building an export emporium, and for that, we need a strong collaboration with them."

As his Government needs to follow up, he pointed out that they also reviewed election preparations and talked about public health and financing, among other topics.

The US Consul, Mr. Stevens Will, emphasized that the meeting's purpose was to assess and strengthen the connection between the US and the Nigerian Government.

The meeting with the governor to discuss the fantastic job the US is doing with the local administration and populace was outstanding. We discussed trade and investment while looking into ways to increase that growth.

He emphasized, "Of course, we spoke about preparation for the crucial election and how the US has backed Nigeria's INEC and civil society in their efforts to get ready for what we hope will be a free, fair, credible election that reflects the will of the Nigerian people."

"We'll come by as frequently as we can." The connection is really significant. "People who have studied and worked in the United States are working with our universities, the health sector, and others to improve government and strengthen civil society in order to safeguard and guarantee credible elections," he said.

The Consul General expressed assurances that they are proud to develop the collaboration ties.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioners and Special Advisers were present during the courtesy call.
