It appears the scenario in the forex market is playing out in the fuel market in Nigeria now where we have multiple exchange rates. I'm based in Abuja and fuel is 190 - 195/ltr almost everywhere. I was in Ilorin earlier this week and bought fuel at 280 per litre. Today I heard they are selling between 320 - 340 in Ilorin. A friend told me this morning in Benin and Warri that fuel is selling for between 450 - 500 this morning. But as I speak it's still 195 in Abuja. Why the wide price difference? And why is Fuel cheaper in Abuja than the south where fuel is coming from? Is this price Arbitrage sustainable? How much is fuel in your Location today? 1 Like
