9 Dead After Container Fell On Fully-loaded Commercial Bus In Ojuelegba Lagos by thisweekng: 9:04am On Jan 30, 2023
It has been confirmed that nine people, including children, died after container fell on fully-loaded commercial bus in Ojuelegba Lagos yesterday, January 29
Earlier Thisweekng had reported that a truck carrying a 20-foot container had crashed onto a commercial bus. According to reports, the truck lost control and crashed over the side of the bridge as the bus was reportedly loading up passengers.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, said in a statement that a single adult woman was extricated alive and brought to the trauma center after suspending the container load with the help of the Agency’s forklift and cutting off the top of the bus.

According to him, the terrible tragedy resulted in the deaths of 4 adult males, 3 adult females, 1 boy child, and 1 girl child.

He added that the Agency’s Ambulance, LASG FIRE, FED FIRE, LASTMA and Nigeria Police have been working on this situation which is now concluded.

”Further investigation to be carried out by the Nigeria Police on the removal of the barriers on the bridge aimed at preventing trucks from ascending.”he said
