Yes, you need a high level of self discipline to achieve your set goals. Where you're passionate about it or not, once the word DISCIPLINE is missing, I doubt it coming to reality.

My take!

I think, you need both to succeed but you must make sure, that discipline always leads and yeah — what about MONEY?

I've got passion for writing, music, science etc but I need discipline in order to HUSTLE for the MONEY to push these dreams further.

That's what I'm doing right now, it's hard but discipline keeps me going.

You need discipline in order to achieve your goals. It does not matter if you have the passion. Once you can't discipline yourself you will always find it hard achieving anything regardless of your passion for it. E.g you need to rehearse or practice a skill or something you are really passionate about but just because you don't feel like doing it at that moment you procrastinate. But if you have disciplined yourself to do things even when you don't feel like you become better than someone who even got more passion/talent than you in same field but lacks discipline.

I could go on and on but these few points I just dropped is enough for now.

My opinion, passion and discipline goes together. Passion give strength to you and makes you love the goal you have set for yourself but if passion is not guided by discipline you might go astray.

Passion might start it for you, but if you're not disciplined you may not go further.

Being passionate makes you enjoy what you're doing... I think that's the zeal to work.

Without discipline you can't go far even if you're passionate... Discipline makes you focus. To achieve your goals you need both, but if am to choose I'll go with discipline.

Passion may get you the most beautiful girl, but if you're not disciplined, you will still cheat!

Passion may make you all the money you dreamt of, if you're not disciplined, greed will collect all from you!

You may have the passion to fast, but it will take discipline for you not to open the fridge!

Discipline is more important than passion. You need to be passionate (like) something to do it. But what happens when you get bored of that thing or encounter some difficulties? But in the case of discipline, you don't need to like it. And when you get bored or encounter difficulties, your discipline will make you do it anyway.

With discipline, even someone who is not skilled in an art can become a champion, passion is like air, discipline is real. Look at all the champions you know, tell me which one does not have the discipline to work daily on their goals. Passion and consistency

Hope u guys know passion is synonymous with encouragement.

Many people that answer before me dnt really know what passion is and many misinterprete displined.

U set up a business bxos u have passion for it, even if profit not coming initially,u will still go and borow to keep it going. If u receives any insult u wouldn't mind but keep it going.

Meanwhile, u will displined urself, not to be sleeping with ur staff, not to spend more than money that u put in business, by waking up early and sleep late.

For those of u talking displine , if u loose passion, that is u re discouraged, even if u re displined by not sleeping with ur female staff, discouragement (loss of passion) will make u close the business with just few insult u receives or the plan profit not forthcoming

It depends on what type of goal you want to achieve. For example; if it's an addiction you want to stop, you need discipline. If it involves growth in business, academics, or professional career you need passion.
