According to Nairaxi in a statement signed and made available to newsmen on tuesday morning, it explained that the ongoing hardship could exacerbate if adequate tech related interventions are not in place, owing to the current realities and unanimous decision on fuel subsidy removal by party Candidates if elected.

Already, Nigerians are struggling to withstand challenges created by the sudden return of heavy queues in our petrol stations, high cost of transportation, newly redesigned naira notes and the cashless policy been spearheaded by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

However, intervention like Nairaxi Digital Transit Subsidy Program and the Automated Fare Collection System provided via a cutting edge Mobile application will be efficient in delivering sustainable palliative to average Nigerians in need of affordable transport and logistics services.

In the statement, Nairaxi maintained that there are no post fuel subsidy intervention programs at the moment and called on federal government under the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to initiate a sustainable tech driven intervention program which can be modified and integrated by his successor.

The statement reads, "We must be very proactive as a country as this is the best time to role our programs to ensure that we avoid any ecoconmic disruption as a result of hike in the price of PMS immediately the subsidy regime is over ".

Recall that the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration made efforts towards the removal of subsidy from petrol using programs like Subsidy Reinvestment Programs (Sure-P) , but failed because the interventions where not rooted in technology and was almost fallible on the face of it.

It further reiterated that technology is important to drive and manage the entire transport and logistics infrastructure in the Nigeria as seen in advanced countries like United States of America, South Korea, China and the United Kingdom.

Nairaxi therefore urged HE Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential Candidate of All Progressive Congress, Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria Peoples Party and other presidential candidates to consider the adoption of a sustainable digital mobility as Post fuel subsidy intervention for Nigerians before removing the Subsidy.

While describing the opportunities and benefits of digital transportation, Nairaxi noted that digital intervention will not only create cheaper transport services but will also improve the sector's contribution to the nation's GDP. It added that GDP improvement will be achieved as against the decreasing N191. 448.27billion recorded in 2022 from N335.660.13 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Although, Nairaxi has remained on the forefront of digital inclusion in the Nigeria transportation system. It has continue to champion the campaign for digital mobility through healthy collaborations with stakeholders in the industry, some of which includes National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), the Federal Ministry of Transport, the National Automotive Design And Development Council, amongst others.

Moving forward, Nairaxi is optimistic that its digital transit card and AFCS will be an efficient solution as well as a smart seamless support for implementation of the five thousand naira monthly transport allowance proposed by FG for over 40miilion Nigerians.
