A Leader Should Not Be Silent, Obi Is Not A Leader by Odibembem: 5:30am On Feb 03, 2023
The last few days has seen so much hardshio visited on innocent Nigerians because of an ill-timed politically motivated naira redesign policy. People don't have cash to transact daily businesses and many queue daily in banks, ATMs and POS, some fighting physically and going naked. There are even states in Nigeria where there are just banks in two out of 27 local govt, people there are right now just sitting at home doing nothing as there is no more means of trade.

There are four major candidates for this month's presidential elections. Asiwaju Tinubu has come out forcefully against the implementation of the policy and senior members of his campaign have openly criticized even the president for it drawing his attention to the suffering of the people. This perhaps has led to some modifications by the CBN. Atiku Abubakar too called for extension though he is now backtracking but at least he realized the suffering of the people and has made appeals on their behalf. Rabiu Kwankwaso has vehemently opposed the timing and implementation citing the present hardship the people are going through. But Peter Obi has been silent, he has taken no position and aired no position. To the suffering of the people he shows no sympathy.

It is true the political class are really not affected cos they can get their cash anyway after all big men don't go to ATMs or POS or even banking queues. Big men always have their cash. But what of the poor Obidient who for a week now has not opened her shop, has not been able to find cash to buy her medicine or food for her children? As a leader Peter Obi ought to speak for them but he is not.

Leadership is not forced, u can't force a man who is not a leader to play a leadership role no matter how passionate u as his supporters are, when he has not developed such capacity over time. Obi is a good man but he is not a leader, he can't stand the heat that comes with taking very tough stands and fighting it through. Obi has no balls and no stomach for a fight and God forbid he becomes president. He is in the same mould as Jonathan, would be caged by a cabal in weeks. Those that have developed themselves in leadership are the ones presently fighting for us and on Feb 25, God will reward them accordingly. God forbid a spineless leader for Nigeria

Thank God others are noticing what I observed.

Hopium:
What i've been hammering about since the cbn announced the redesign is manifesting in different ways.

Like El-Rufai said initiating naira redesign just because of electoral purpose is foolish. Not only does it make zero economic sense, it has no political value. You can't beat the elite this way. There's a reason they're called elites. Kwankwanso has voiced against the policy; same as Tinubu.

The electorates or citizens that the myopic Buhari thinks he's protecting are the ones suffering it. From controlling large shares in top banks to mopping up notes from the lower class of the society, how has this solved vote buying?

One key observation is than Peter Obi hasn't said anything about the scarcity or policy. It's like his fans aren't queuing for cash or suffering the effect. Is this the man obidients said will deliver Nigerians from the shackles of their oppressors? Not even a word to score political points. This man go worse pass Buhari as i dey look am so.

Peter Obi is very focused

He doesn't want to get involved in the ruforufo fight of the current calamitous APC government where a presidential candidate is accusing Buhari and the APC on whose platform he is contesting of bringing out policies that will sabotage his election

Peter Obi is an idea whose time has come

These baalablu supporters are getting desperate lol

Do you remember what Tinubu said when EndSars protesters were shot at and murdered?

"What were they doing there in the first place" were his words.

For 8 years people have been suffering and dying, this baalablu bulaba man was silent. Now his political ambition is about to be crushed and he has suddenly become the voice of the people?

De play, you hear? De play

APC financial policies is destroying the country.

Petrol is #450 per litre in my area

Many Nigerians are suffering and sinking into poverty.

Please don't vote APC again before we all sink.
We don't have to make the same mistake again

He is focused indeed.

Kwankwanso is unfocused, that's why he went to channels tv to speak against the demonic policy and scarcity hurting Nigerians.

Tinubu is unfocused too for first speaking against the policy and scarcity, literally telling APC (his party ooo) and Buhari to wake up.

Aisha Buhari too is unfocused.

Atiku too is unfocused. We all know mikano's selfishness no get competition; he still spoke anyhow anyhow, while sitting on the fence.

Pandora Anini was so focused on his ambition so such he didn't see or care that his obidients are suffering the fuel and cash scarcity. if they die of hunger or trek miles to reach destinations, or can't go to work; e no concern am. they're just tools to him to achieve his ambition. they don't matter.

Seeking political leadership is a selfish endeavor because you want to be the one so 100% of them are selfish but in seeking office, once in a while d interest of the people u seek to lead must coincide with yours, hence you must speak up. Obi has shown that he would run away from doing d tough things, he would run away from a fight, the national assembly, diplomatic community and the military would cough and Obi would take flight, they would ask him to foist a very negative policy on Nigerians and he won't have the balls to fight or say no, Such a man should and will never be president of Nigeria

is it now that Nigeria started suffering ?if Tinubu was speaking up like this, people would have rallied around him.
When Peter Obi said that Nigeria is heading towards a failed state, you covered your ear with a cotton wool. What adjective hasn't he used to describe Nigeria situation. Tinubu is speaking up because he felt it will affect his chances, what has he said about PVC collection difficulties in Lagos? what about schools giving students a week to travel to vote?

Where was APC when Obi suspended campaign to support flood victims? Some of you here were even saying it was eye service. Now they want to pretend they care because there apparent rigging plan is being sabotaged by Buhari their master.

It is clear that the only reason APC is against the policy is because it will prevent vote buying not that they really cared about the people. Let them manage their internal selfish interests. It’s hard for the common man but if it will lead to free and fair election we will manage.
