There is what the people celebrating this supreme court pronoucement failed to understand,first the new notes will continue be scarce,secondly banks won't pay over the counter, thirdly the pos operators will have to source for money to do their businesses thereby moping up already scarce money. My opinion is that government should resist the pressure to extend the deadline beyond Feb 10 but make it compulsory for banks to pay stipulated daily and weekly withdrawal limits either through ATM or over the counter that way there will be money in circulation compare to now only few people spend their new notes in the market thereby contributing to it's scarcity. 1 Like |
