Nobody is disputing the conceptual importance of the policy.
However it implementation and timing is thoughtless, dubious and insensitive.

Good policy implementation is meant to be for the good of the majority and not to suffer the majority for the sake of dealing with few unscrupulous elements.

Let's bear the pain...

It won't last forever

Let's get things right for once in this country undecided

Nobody is arguing about the benefits of the redesign of the Naira, but the very poor policy articulation and even poorer implementation strategy.

The policy has reduced insecurity but people are suffering. Won't you think this suffering will later lead to insecurity? Good policy but bad implementors.

What is all these nonsense all about

Malami must be sick. Is selling of the Naira not corruption? Is hoarding of the Naira not corruption? Is the disruption of bank services not criminality. These are new lows for the country and the kidnapping and corruption has increased. Yes, the redesign was a good policy but you guys boggled it.

It has actually

The truth is that the long term benefits of this naira redesign and cashless policy are enormous. It will reduce kidnapping, corruption, robbery and the volatility of exchange rates. Above all, it will significantly reduce vote buying not just in 2023 but going forward. Meaning that we stand a better chance of having good leaders.

If you are close to politicians, you would have noticed that it is already hitting them very very hard. The idea that the politicians will always be able to lay their hands on as much new notes as they want is a fallacy. Dem no get cash again. And it will get worse for them in as the election approaches.

However, I blame Meffy for the hardship the common man is facing. They should have printed loads of fifty naira notes and filled bank vaults with them. That would have greatly eased the cash crunch, without creating an opening for corrupt politicians to exercise their enterprise due to the quantity of 50s they would require for execution.

Be that as it may, if the Supreme Court is unable to stop the implementation (I earnestly pray so), Nigerians should hang in there for the next 3 weeks to a month when the elections must have been over, then cash would be more available.

I am sure it will all end in praise.

The politicians don't have it. Believe me if they did, they won't be running around the whole place.

As per the bandits, they may have sources in the bank who changed some notes for them. But that's where it ends. The setback they would have is the inability of victims to source the raw cash they need for ransome. With time, kidnapping wouldn't be as lucrative as it was, and many of those guys will start looking for alternative sources of livelihood.
Exactly wat I had bn telling everyone around me.

CBN should have kept their Jan 31st deadline and print enormous amount of #50 notes everywhere!
#100 shld be our highest denomination and printed in limited quantity.
A single dollar bill shld not be found on anyone, but u can buy 4rm banks at official rate and have it transfered to u which u can never withdraw physically.
All bdc shld be placed under tight watch.

Kidnapping go disappear overnight.
Bandits go drop guns enter farm go work their daily bread.
Vote buying ends.

Everybody will by force embrace cashless policy.

Thieves wey dey plan to go rob 4 nite go dey ready to carry heavy sacks loaded wit #50 notes if dem serious wit their lives!

Recently on social media, bandits/terrorists were boosting to have MORE of the new re-designed notes than the entire Nigerian state and iwhat the citizens have..

Wooden-headed politicians playing politics with people's lives

This is fallacy. That money is not available anywhere. Anyone can show fake notes to prove a silly point.

As for the politicians, they are the same as those terrorists. That money isn't available. That's why they are running up and down, taking the CBN and federal government to the Supreme Court. They cannot buy votes anymore.

Imagine El-Rufai saying that a governor received 500 million. Big joker, who dash monkey banana?

So as them no make lower denominations available, what next? A good policy that was bungled by Emefiele.
Politicians steal, we suffer the effects. Trying to frustrate one politician now, we are still suffering for it. You are suffering and you are hailing because you think they are trying to frustrate one politician.

They only exchanged the old ones they had.

Or have you paid ransom in the new currency since it was introduced?
I'm wondering how you would get 20million naira of the new currency to pay them.

I also blame them for waiting so long before getting the sense of the redesign. Buhari could v done it since 2015 or 2016. It ll v been useful against him in 2019 elections after all, they bought votes for him too. Both Malami, Buhari and Emefiele are just acting as spoilers and spoilers don't end well.
