Politainmnet.net reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has stated that February 10, 2023, was the deadline for the withdrawal of the old N200, N500, and N1000 banknotes. As such, this date will not be shifted.

Although, an interim order of the Supreme Court restrained the directive, pending the outcome of a case filed by some State governments in an update on the availability of the redesigned Naira notes.

Also, it was made known by the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, that the banks had improved in the circulation of the new currency. As such, there will be no need to extend the deadline.
