Once upon a time, the front page of this forum was constantly filled with news of kidnap and banditry.

All of a sudden, we go days and weeks without such bad news. Why? Because of this cashless policy.

There's no doubting the efficacy of this policy. However, banks need to step up their IT infrastructure to minimize the pains on Nigerians.

This country can be better. The elites that have weaponized poverty are holding us back.

If you want to see wicked people, I mean very very wicked people.
Go to a government owned hospital, general hospitals
Some of those people running the affairs of the hospital, they see themselves as Demigod especially the nurses then those ones at the points of payments.

This has nothing to do with Naira redesign, but criminal negligence and criminal refusal to assist a citizen in need .

We need to start applying the relevant laws in Nigerians.

yes, they were indirectly compelled to upgrade. If you fail to upgrade, you go out of business. That's exactly what is going to happen now. Their survival in business requires an upgrade, so they would upgrade.

You can imagine that some individuals waited until the last day before going to deposit their money.... They were literally forced to go and deposit their cash....

are you talking about "compulsion" or evolution? how long did it take for banks to "indirectly compelled" compared to the present situation of just 3 months?

explain what you mean by "indirectly compelled"? who did the indirect compulsion?

in this present situation, is it also indirect compulsion or direct compulsion?

it's left for the banks to upgrade, if they don't and customers are not happy, they loose business.

They had 3 months to upgrade their IT infrastructure, they didn't because people like Tinubu assured then that the old notes would be valid until they win the election and are sworn in....

The policy stays. Enough of money politics.

you can keep crying for all we care, we don't need the old notes in circulation anymore. The new notes would be made more available after the elections.

Its really sad. I was held at a government owned hospital for hours until I was transferred to a private hospital. And I had paid fully for a bed space, antenatal and all in advance. These people value money more than lives. Then there's the problem of incompetence.
