Once upon a time, the front page of this forum was constantly filled with news of kidnap and banditry.

All of a sudden, we go days and weeks without such bad news. Why? Because of this cashless policy.

There's no doubting the efficacy of this policy. However, banks need to step up their IT infrastructure to minimize the pains on Nigerians.

This country can be better. The elites that have weaponized poverty are holding us back.
Well said brother. Supported!

Your parents wasted their money sending you to school. Cashless policy cannot stop kidnapping. The kidnappers would simply demand dollars, which the victims family would pay an aboki for with transfer so you are back to square one with the added problem of dollar rate going up because of increased demand therefore affecting the economy negativelyLearn to use your brain.

If u talk now, they will put the blame on tinubu.
They will say he foisted buhari on us.

Since emefelie entered the scene, dollar has not come down.
The E naira he brought.....nothing

Then he started the naira redesign issue.

Now see how people are suffering.

U say it's a good policy.

What was the policy borne out of?

Patriotism?
Politics?

We can't even buy things and live a normal life.

Is it by creating naira scarcity that you stop kidnapping?

Many of the kidnappers especially those in the north are known to this govt and it's agencies? Why were they not arrested all this while? If the nigerian could go all the way to kidnap nnamdi kanu, how it can't arrest kidnappers in zamfara and katsina states? Who is deceiving who?

It's now banks you are blaming for the pains Nigerians are experiencing. How is their fault? How do you want banks to "step up their IT infrastructure' in 3 months?

If stepping up IT infrastructure was the goal, does it make sense to create cash confusion before asking banks to step up their IT infrastructure? That is like building a house from the roof instead of the foundation.

In terms of pains caused to Nigerians, why is the govt not supplying cash to the banks? Will that cause comfort to Nigerians? Where are the new bills? They say bring your old bills. Where are the new bills wee are supposed to get in return?

Who are the elite that have weaponisef poverty? Is buhari not part of them? Is his deliberate attempt at creating naira scarcity causing prosperity or poverty?

Re: Pregnant Woman Dies In Kano Hospital Over Payment Alerts Delay by juman(m): 10:18pm On Feb 18, 2023
Some days ago, I read of a man that his pregnant wife died because he couldn't get cash to take her to hospital during delivery.

He invited a nurse to deliver her at home but after the baby came out the blood did not stop and there was no cash to take her to hospital.
The wife died and the baby.

Buhari is a wicked soul.

the banks were aware of the challenges the cashless policy would be associated with, they had over 90 days to upgrade their IT infrastructure. Mediocrity is the reason why Nigeria is a pariah state. The MD of those banks and their board are supposed to have resigned their appointments.

The banks can hoard and auction the new notes, but they can't have enough infrastructure to accommodate the surge.

Mad people everywhere

If this is true, the doctor should have requested for payment receipt,if the man used app,or at worst,he should have gone ahead and save the woman and baby's life first,he can even decides to delay the woman until he receives alert, this is a clear case of man's inhumanity to man! Whatever happens to Hippocratic oath?

How did banks handle the introduction of ATM into the banking system? Were they "forced" to upgrade their IT infrastructure?

All the e channels you have been enjoying, were banks "forced" to provide them before they did?

Are there no better ways of getting banks to upgrade their IT infrastructure than using force? If the policy is a good one, why the use of force?
