Esan West Local Government begin drainage clearing

Regular cleansing of drains, canals and waterways is conducted by a taskforce constituted by the Esan West LGA council Boss *Hon Friday Amiedamhen Idialu* , a unit set up within the department of environment in Esan West council, to integrate the cleaning functions of public areas.

To ensure that the drains perform to their designed capacities and remain free-flowing, the taskforce went round the city center, strategic locations of major erosion, canals and drains to evacuate and clean up the refuse blocking the flow of water.

The taskforce are deployed across the LGA to carry out physical cleansing of drains and canals. A performance-based cleansing regime, this requires them to clean the drains regularly in compliance with specified cleanliness standards.

A constantly audit performance is part of the committee set up. They also review the frequency of cleansing based on systematic checks and public feedback.

We call on all citizens of Esan west LGA to join force with us in rebuilding a cleaner Esan Land.
