The Central Bank of Nigeria has ordered banks to start collecting the old N500 and N1,000 notes from the public with immediate effect. It, however, pegged the maximum amount the banks can collect at N500,000. The CBN maintained that the old currencies were no more legal tender. A source from the bank said the CBN ordered the banks to collect the monies instead of going to the CBN office following difficulties encountered in getting access to the bank. https://punchng.com/breaking-cbn-orders-banks-to-collect-old-n500-n1000-notes/#:~:text=The%20Central%20Bank%20of%20Nigeria,were%20no%20more%20legal%20tender. |

You see why APC Governors are right Emefiele is a clown I can deposit 500K in 5 different bank accounts making 2.5m meaning old notes is still a legal tender .....since the deadline specified is April 10 . Alternatively if you have individual and corporate accounts ....500k in each account Redesign Policy is completely defeated Am I right or wrong? 5 Likes 2 Shares |

But if it is more than 500,000, you will go to the CBN and deposit it.” |

I don't want Tinubu to win(Lord forbid), but I can't stand judicial rascality. The supreme court has given a clear order and Buhari and the CBN are not obeying. Yes we can laugh now because it's Tinubu and his men on the receiving end but about tomorrow. Once this precedent is set, what will we say when another President tomorrow refuses to accept supreme court order? This path leads to anarchy. I respect what Buhari is trying to do, but the rule of law must be sacrosanct, else we are in the jungle. If Buhari really wanted free elections he should have empowered EFCC to be effective, the way it was during OBJ's time. Which governor dare stock away billions in that era? 2 Likes |

Asiwaju deserve all the credit if it's true Emefiele has been taught a lesson He is a useless saboteur otherwise does he need to be reminded that only tender should/can be replaced with new one as long as 100 years |
