This was the reason I was sceptical of the news that said Bank should collect the old notes.

There was no such news on CBN website and their Twitter handle.

CBN is confused, who then directed the bank to start collecting 500 and 1000 notes if not them when even zenith bank first bank has sent people emails and notification via their social media pages that they have started collecting same money.

I don't see any wrong in commercial banks collecting old notes, as long as the receipt is generated on CBN's website.

They will not be able to handle the crowd. Let the banks help!

CBN is not helping matters in terms of clarification.All simply means you can deposit at the selected commercial banks going through the CBN website printout form

That is your operating bank, that is the bank you have an account with. You deposit with CBN, CBN then moves it to your bank account.
