The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in Abia State Hon Obinna Ichita, has said the lack of development in the State is traceable to the mismanagement of resources by the Peoples Democratic Party led government in the State.

He said a situation where huge amount of money was uncounted for under the guise of security vote was imnical to development of the State.

Ichita, who spoke during the deputy governorship candidate debate organized by the Abia election debate on Saturday, lamented that the health, educational and infrastructural development of the state was under deplorable condition in the State.........click the link Below for details and kindly share.

This has nothing to do with the PDP.
The problem Abia State has is similar to that of Imo state,though worse;every Abian that has become governor after Orji Kalu strives to outdo his predecessor,in stealing the state blind;development of the state is secondary if not tertiary to their thoughts.
Their mindset is this:if Orji Kalu could have used the states revenue to enrich himself,crop up his businesses and built up a part of his village to a tourist attraction,they can at least do same,if not more in deviating state resources and accrued revenue to their pockets for their own selfish or clannish use.
However,the amount it took Kalu to embezzle to do the things he did from 1999-2007,is not the same it took subsequent governors because of the steadily declining exchange rate,added to the steadily increasing salary/salary obligation and increased cost of developmental projects.
So subsequent governors had to embezzle greater sums,leaving very little if any,to pay mere salaries,talkless of any development.
Ariaria market for eg has remained the same eyesore since 1999 to now because there is simply no money to do any meaningful development of that market.
It would only take the special grace of God for Abia and to a lesser extent Imo state to have governors that come close to any the other Southeastern states of Enugu,Anambra,Ebonyi,in that order,have produced.
