The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released a summary of the number of polling unit and collation center agents submitted by various political parties for the 2023 general elections. The total number of party agents registered is 1,500,000 from 18 different political parties in 176,974 polling units. Among the prominent parties, the Labour Party (LP) led by Peter Obi has the highest number of agents with 134,874, followed by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 96,034 agents. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by Atiku Abubakar and the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Bola Tinubu both have 176,974 agents. The remaining 14 political parties have a total of 1,081,358 agents. In a recent development, the ADC has endorsed Peter Obi as their presidential candidate for the forthcoming election.
