With the presidential election only a few days away, we’ve seen entertainers, pitch tents with their preferred candidate to occupy the seat of power.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday held its presidential rally in Lagos which saw the Marlian president, Naira Marley, throw the mammoth crowd that gathered at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, into a frenzy.


Before kicking off his performance while on stage, with loud cheering from the crowd, the ‘Soapy’ crooner exclaimed “Asiwaju all the way” while the crowd erupted in excitement.

Below are six other popular singers who have publicly endorsed and shown support for the APC principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu;


KWAM 1

The veteran Fuji musician, K1 de Ultimate aka KWAM1 endorsed Tinubu in a statement by his spokesperson, Kunle Rasheed, shared on Facebook on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

According to Kunle, KWAM1 customised mobile phones as a way of showing his support for Tinubu’s presidential ambition.

The statement reads: “The musician is not just showing his support for the former Lagos governor alone which he has been doing for many years through live and recorded songs, he has just taken delivery of customised mobile phones that have, not only pictures and expressions of Asiwaju but also the new song he has just composed for him.

“K1 Customises Mobile Phone For Tinubu To Support Presidential Aspiration. Wasiu Ayinde Olasunkanmi Marshal, who is popularly known as K1 de Ultimate has come out boldly to communicate his preferred support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his presidential bid among all other aspirants in his party APC.

“The musician is not just showing his support for the former Lagos governor alone which he has been doing for many years through live and recorded songs, he has just taken delivery of customised mobile phones that have, not only pictures and expressions of Asiwaju but also the new song he has just composed for him.

“K1 has made it known that the phones will be distributed around the country especially the South as his own little contribution towards his leader’s quest ro rule the country.

“Aside from the mobile phones, K1 will also be distributing CDs and other campaign materials that have set his pocket back in hundreds of millions.”

On October 1, 2022, the ‘Zazu’ crooner expressed his support for Tinubu in a video he made while visiting Paris, France.

Speaking, the self-styled ‘wahala’ musician said: “Happy Independence Day o! My Nigeria people, Zazu is in Paris o! Aki France. Come, vote for Tinubu. E ma lo sho ri ibu (you people should not be unfortunate).

“I am a Yoruba boy, I will not tell you to go and vote for another tribe. Yoruba l’okan (It’s the turn of the Yoruba’s). Akoi Tinubu! E ni sho ori ibu! (You won’t be unfortunate o!)

”Support those who has money. Follow who get money. Give money to who have money. Don’t give money to who don’t have money because they’ll abscond with your money.

“But the one that has money, would know how to invest the money. He’ll help you arrange the money and package it. The way he packaged Lagos, he will also package Nigeria.

“Happy independence day o. Vote for Tinubu!”

Brymo

In May 2022, singer Olawale Olofooro aka Brymo trended on Twitter after he openly declared his support for Tinubu.

The sonic artsite, who described the former Lagos State governor as a “city boy” noted that he was the one with a plan for the country.
