The National Christian Elders Forum, led by former Defense Minister Theophilus Danjuma (retired) and other senior politicians, on Tuesday, endorsed the Labor Party’s presidential nomination of Peter Obi, ahead of Saturday’s vote.

The NCEF said this year’s presidential election must produce a leader who ensures national reconciliation and unification, which in turn will lead to socioeconomic prosperity for Nigeria.

Calling on Nigerians not to vote based on religious or tribal considerations, the group said what Nigeria needs at this time is a new generation of leaders who are competent, clean, and healthy, because for “a sick country requires hearty leaders”.



The Christian Elders Forum disclosed this in a statement titled, “Resolutions towards 2023 elections: Think new,” signed by its chairman and former Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Danjuma Gani, and Secretary, Pastor Bosun Emmanuel, on Tuesday.
