The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has denied rumors of a rift between the five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors who have abstained from supporting the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. The other governors are Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikepazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu). There have been reports that Wike, who is the leader of the group, is working for the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, while Ortom has thrown his support behind Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.
