DID YOU KNOW? Nigerian Telcos Are Harmonizing Their SMS Service Codes

Telecommunications operators in Nigeria have started harmonizing the service shortcodes across all networks.

This will enable customers to utilize a single specific SMS code to access the same service, across all the networks.

Below is the list of the new codes, which can be used for all telcos (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9Mobile etc):

Call Center/Help Desk *300#

Voice Mail Deposit *301#

Voice Mail Retrieval *302#

Borrow Services *303#

STOP Services *304#

Check Balance *310#

Credit/Airtime Recharge *311#

Data Plan Menu *312#

Share Services *321#

Data Plan Balance *323#

Verification of SIM Registration/ Linkage of NIN to SIM *996#

Porting Services (MNP) *2442#

These new codes are already working, but the old individual telco codes will also continue to work until the first quarter of 2024, after which the old codes will be deactivated.
