Apply for a school and gain admission, the school will send all verification link to the embassy of China Abuja. Prior to your visit to the embassy, you will pay tuition fee, visa fee, processing fee, and then wait for your receipts, electronic visa sticker by email, Those are the documents you will take to the embassy incl SOA and have the visa stamp on your passport.

BTW why china since u can enroute HK

HK I applied a few but you have to be sure of your English language test , if undergraduate. Graduate Studies, It's same process but seamlessly achievable than PRC.
You can mail your reference or upload online during the application process, pay your processing fees and wait for your acceptance letter. Pay tuition and visa processing fee, wait for your evisa which you can use to travel.
