Arumodum Julius Akoi, an ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was shot and killed by political thugs in Ward 7 Abua Central, Abua-Odual local government area of Rivers State, IGBERETV reports.

The incident happened during the governorship and House of Assembly election on Saturday, March 18, 2023. It was gathered that the ad hoc staff died while he was being rushed to the hospital for medical treatment,

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed one person dead at Abual-Odual but didn't give further details.

Sane people are not many in Nigeria again. The earlier we know this, the better. Our choice of candidates alone in the 2023 elections is enough proof. It seems even an enlightened and educated person in this country seems to behaving as though corruption has been legalized.

Federal government should consider ELECTRONIC VOTING IN NIGERIA.

This should be an upgrade from the BVAS and IREV Portal system.

Nigeria should scale up technologically.

Lets go for electronic voting.

There are millions of Nigerians with smartphone and low grade touch light phone.

These can be configured in such a way that people can vote from their houses using smartphone, ordinary fm with touch light phones.

These will go a long way in reducing cost of conducting elections in Nigeria.

It will also reduce political thuggery, assassination, and killings of people during electioneering processes in Nigeria.
