Breaking News!!! The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won the 2023 gubernatorial elections in Akwa Ibom State. The victory was a sweeping one. The party obtained a total of 354,348 votes while defeating 17 other political parties in the state.

It is pertinent to note that the PDP has been the dominant party in governance in the Land of Promise. And this was since democracy was reinstated in 1999 after the military regime.

The State Collation Officer, Professor Emmanuel Adigioh, the Vice Chancellor of Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, announced the results.

However, the Young Progressive Party won two local government areas, while the All Progressive Congress (APC) came in third position.
