So,, As big as INEC is, it couldn't even get good results-transmission and results-collation systems.

Yet, a state in Nigeria had already gone all the way to adopt full Electronic Voting since 2018..

KUDOS TO KADUNA.

This is good step in the right direction.

You have been deceived.

It's not as simple as you read or see it and is highly hypocritical.

The machine is purely a rigging machine. There are LGA that even with the elections, results were never declared or completely swapped and Administrators appointed.

Electronic Voting on national level cannot be compared with local election within a state. Reason is that this electronics have more than 500000 ways of manipulating it. Believe you mean, the memory slot where the votes are store can be manually changed, hacked or destroyed remotely. Moreso, results can be intercepted during transmission. There are tons of loopholes desperate politicians can exploit to manipulate results. The Government might also collude with INEC to pre-programmed to favor a candidate.

Judging from the attacks on irev portal in the recent president election, report has it that there was more than 10000000 attacks on a single day. Now factor that big electronic distributed in about 180000 Polling units, imagine the different alterations, disruptions and manipulations that can be deployed to favor a politician?

Oga we need nation reorientation..... Not this big big machine

It is not the fault of the machines if the results were swapped unless it was done to through the machines ... If another was announced it is not the machines

What is the use of sophisticated technology in the hand of people who lacks proper Education.

What is the use of cashless policy in a country whose half of her citizens are not properly education, whose half of the locations do not have access to bank and Internet.

Nigeria should focus on this thing first.

Education us. Reduce illiteracy to the bearest minimum

While manual collation has only one way of manipulation and is the easiest means of rigging. Dey play.
How can you give election result to just anyone to go to wherever and rewrite the result manually.
One governor can alter the result of the entire state. This is the level of unreadiness towards electronic voting you're talking about.
Election result should be transmitted independently to the central server. No third party should handle results.

Before I do, here is a link to show you that at least 50% of the world's elections are termed controversial.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_controversial_elections

Now to your question, and solely based on my own opinion, I will rate the Presidential 50% and the Gubernatorial 70%.
My reason for the above percentage is that the presidential was marred with voter intimidation in all geopolitical zones of the country, underage voting in the North/South East, ballot snatching in many parts of the country and electoral malpractice by all the 4 major parties in that election. Worse was the failure of INEC to upload results in real time to the iREV.
For the gubernatorial, elections started and ended on time unlike during the presidential. Also, results were uploaded as soon as possible on iRev and everyone could access it. Voter intimidation were reported in Lagos only. Ballot snatching were reported in very few states compared to the presidential elections. Electoral violence was reported in some states but seemed to be lesser than during the Presidential (taking Lagos off the equation). This is evident in the way more opposition have conceded defeat and congratulated the winners compared to the presidential elections.
Like I said, this is strictly my opinion.

That's a good and it's encourageable across the country. But without taking care of voter suppression, intimidation and disenfranchisement, it would be a wasted effort.

If developed nations can use electronic voting, then nothing stops us from using it.
There's no infallible system. The government just needs to have the political will. There will definitely be issues here and there, but with determination, the issues will be tackled

Yes, the machine prints out exactly the result which doesn't have to be written manually. But they take the machine and the results and you never have access to it unlike IREV. They will just announce what they like and if you don't like it and still protest, the Governor just appointment an administrator for that LG till thy kingdom come.

That's exactly what happened to some LGAs.

Just forget about it.

We need electronic voting and transmission of results in our electoral process, advance nations are using it so Nigeria shouldn't be an exception.

What we need is a decentralised solution where people can vote from their houses.

This is where REMOTE ELECTRONIC VOTING comes in.

You are right. We still have a very long way to go in our electoral system. Until our people have the right mindset to understand the implications of choosing their leaders under a free, fair, credible and transparent atmosphere, we will not make any headway.
